Maleic acid resin is irregular light yellow transparent flake solid, which is made by adding refined rosin as raw material and maleic anhydride, and then esterifying with pentaerythritol. Soluble in coal char solvents, esters, vegetable oil, turpentine, but insoluble in alcohols. The resin is light in color, has strong light resistance, is not easy to yellow, and has the best compatibility with nitrocellulose. The obtained paint film has strong strength and is smooth after drying, which can greatly improve the surface strength and gloss of the paint. In addition, it has excellent water resistance and can save tung oil. It is an ideal material for making white quick-drying enamel.
