Calcium Silicon Alloy is a binary alloy of silicon and calcium, its principal components are silicon and calcium, but also contain different amounts of iron, aluminum, carbon, sulfur and phosphorus and other metals.
Due to the strong affinity between calcium and oxygen, sulfur, hydrogen, nitrogen and carbon in liquid steel, Calcium Silicon Alloy is mainly used for deoxidation, degassing and fixing sulfur in liquid steel, calcium silicon after adding liquid steel produces a strong exothermic effect, calcium becomes calcium vapor in liquid steel, stirring effect on liquid steel, which is conducive to the floating of non-metallic inclusions. After deoxidation, the silicon calcium alloy produces non-metallic inclusions with large particles and easy to float, and also changes the shape and properties of non-metallic inclusions. Therefore, the silicon calcium alloy is used to produce clean steel, high-quality steel with low oxygen and sulfur content, and special steel with extremely low oxygen and sulfur content.
